I preserved something!
Pickled Peppers (jalapeno and banana), from plant to jar.
Buggies usually aren’t interested in the pepper plants, but a tiny flock of fuzzy white critters flew away as I picked these guys.
I do not have the stuff to can with, least of all a pot tall enough to cover jars (this was remedied today thanks to an awesome mom in law). As I was doing only one pint anyway, I used my camping percolator as a hot bath (lol). Botulism IS NOT on the bucket list, so I wouldn’t have attempted this with anything else other than a 2/3 vinegary brine.
We shall see if my first canning experience was a tasty success in about a month or two. Making cuke pickles later!!
